PRIDE Month Suriname, previously the Coming Out Week, is a non-profit event that has been organized by volunteers since 2011 and that focuses on creating awareness about the LGBT community as a very present and a full-fledged part of Surinamese society.
Through dialogue, different forms of expression and festivities, we strive to narrow the gap of incomprehension and fear between the LGBT community and the rest of the Surinamese society. In the pursuit to eliminate any form of of exclusion and stigmatization based on sexual orientation or gender identity, significant successes have been achieved so far with PRIDE Month Suriname. However, the fight continues!
